applying hosiery

There are a few different frames available. I did buy a Mediven butler once which was quite expensive and most patients I trialled it with did not give very positive feed back. That is available from Medi UK.

Found the following frame using google which is cheaper:

The acti-glide system from activa which can be prescribed on FP10 has been more popular. Other patients are happy to use the silk sock that comes with scholl products or the carrier bag already described.

It is frustrating that home care packages available through social services do not seem to include applying hosiery. I cannot see why they should not be? The carers can go in and wash and cream the legs but are not able to apply the hosiery? Surely there is no danger as long as they have been dopplered and measured regularly at the surgery, which should be ensured by the prescriber?

Where do those of you using the zipped hosiery get them from? Does the zipped area leave any indentation?

Please be informed that the above is the opinion of the author and is in no way meant to be taken as instruction.
